The products that this group of Artesanos creates are not mere souvenirs or gifts. Each piece is hand-crafted from precious native wood and represents the struggle to survive despite economic injustice. This group recognizes its power to organize and prioritizes teaching, sharing skills, and creation rather than profit or gain.
The TSTSCA is a ten year old solidarity action organization that supports projects initiated by the Nicaraguan community of Santo Tomás . Student delegations from the Evergreen State College work and live in Santo Tomás each year.
